It rains. Yet shortly before eleven I leave the hotel. On the street I'm greeted by march music, the Air Force on the way to the city hall where it will pass by the Lord Mayor. I prefer to take the pictures from the City Hall I should have taken yesterday if I had not been so lazy.
Then I walk on Ann street and neighbouring street from the center away. This brings me to Brisbane's Chinatown. There is a performance with two dragons and accompaigned by loud drums. Too loud for me, I proceed and reach the suburban area of Fortitude Valley. There I change direction back towards the city so that I will get to Story Bridge which is the one you can see on yesterdays page. I walk on that bridge and arrive at Kangaroo Point which is on the same side of the river as "South Bank" park yet on the other side of the city, because the river flows around it.
To find a brige which is open to pedestrians and oes to the city I need to walk along the river until I reach almost the place I started my yesterdays walk in "South Bank". The city end of the bridge is right near the entrance of the botanic garden: shadow and banks on which to relax, that is exaclty what I need now.
Having seen enough of the botanic garden - all cities in Australia seem to have one - I walk back into the city. While the parks and gardens are quite empty, Queen Street Mall is full of people, all attracted by the shops here. I am not, and so I go to my hotel room. While on the toilet - where I often get inspiring thoughts - I remember that actually I need to buy something and so I have to walk back to the place I dismayed less than an hour ago just to see that in the mean time most shops have closed.
