V/Line operates the Melbourne Adelaide line mainly by Bus. Today even more than otherwise. The train from Melbourne should take one on a two hour ride to Bendigo where the transfer to Coach happens. Today the train which by the way departed right on schedule at 8:40 ends in the middle of the line in Sunbury. From there a bus takes the passengers to Bendigo where it arries with 20 minutes delay. But the connection to the Adeliade Coach is guaranteed.
Some of the towns through which we pass look like what you see in Western movies except that the streets are ... and there are cars parked in front of the houses instead of horses.
At about 20:00 Sydney time and 19:30 Adelaide time - for the first time I'm in a time zone which has an UTC offset that is not an integral number of hours - the coach reaches the destination. I walk to the hotel which unfortunatly is ight at the other end of the city center though fortunatly the center is not that big.
