Today I pack in my bag the same warm clothes I had on when I departed from Switzerland. I will need them this evening when watching little Penguins on Philips Island. Before that I go to the Global Gossip Internet café because I eneed to book a hotel for Darwin. Now my travel is almost complete, only the flight back is missing, but I cannot book that yet.
At 12:50 the bus for the Penguin Parade tour arrives. The first intermediate stop is at a vine yard for picnic and wine tasting. I leave out the second part and just eat my sandwich. The next stop is at a mini-zoo. Here they care for orphaned Wombats until they are old enough to be let free again. They let you hold such a baby. Besides that you get a chance to see a few other specific australian animals.
The bus makes two more intermediat stops at the coast. From one of them you should be able to see fur seals somewhere out there.
Then it's time to withstand the cold wind at the beach expecting the little penguins - they are just about 30cm tall - to come back from fishing. From the viewing platform one sees just a few groups returning. So it's better to go back on the where you can see them walking just next to you. Unfortunatly one is not allowed to take pictures here.
